An update on Gary Anderson, a conversation about the mayor bullying people into voting his way, and the age old question of what is our mayor doing in Anson County at 1:22 a.m.? A sale on tight shirts?
We take our best stab at it as we continue exploring life in Monroe.

While the mayor supposedly dug up the dirt on a scandal, he still didn't miss neck day! We get into the ridiculousness of another episode of the Burns Show and how much of our tax dollars he's going to waste this time. Additionally, remember when William Dotson pretended to care about the humane society? His act fell apart last week when he not only voted against raising the outside agency funding cap, but made an impassioned campaign speech (author: unknown) about how much taxpayers don't want their money spent on this stuff. Swing and a miss, Willy Dot!

We hit record and let the mood take us where we wanted to go. We discuss campaigning strategies (shameless plug for Kevin's latest blog) and why going on a press tour while your wife is laid up is actually disgusting.

It's downtime before the election, so we ask the important question, should sarcastic people be allowed to text each other?

We take some time out of our busy schedule to break down the primaries and make fun of Dotson's lack of a campaign. Buzzwords and slogans worked for Burns, will it work for Dotson? Not likely...
Once the primary is over we hope to stop talking about all these horrible folks and examine some of the stuff that makes Monroe great...until then...

Two big things are happening in the world of Monroe. The first is a subversive group of hidden individuals are running a page, Monroe Vote Tracker, pretending to be informative when they're actually just campaigning for Burns, Dotson, and the like. Check out the blog on our website as the podcast only touches the surface of how sneaky these folks are. Then we jump into Flock Security. A committee meeting on Wednesday that we'd like all to attend, will be discussing the city-wide surveillance system. What they're discussing? We're not sure, but there's only one way to find out! See you Sunday!

We're back as primary season starts to heat up. A candidate forum the other day had one notable absence. We speculate as to why she stayed hidden as we delve into the upcoming election. Two notable corrections need to be made. Kevin misspelled "cacophany" during the podcast. He was reading off of an "accepted" variance page instead of a dictionary. And the total gold estimated in the world is $29 trillion. Again, trying to look things up quickly leads to mistakes! Maybe one day we'll prepare better. But where's the fun in that?
